Foundation of AyurvedaBalance versus
Imbalance
In ayurvedic philosofy balancing is the way to go. Balance is good, imbalance is bad. So what exactly should be balenaced?
Think again about the "five states of matter". When fire and air dominate your being, and no water, ether or earth is there, there mioght be an imbalance, your out of your natural, essential harmony.
Only fire and air won't make you happy nor healthy. To be a raging forestfire won't bring you far. You need earth to put you feet, water to clear your skin and the sky to touch the divine.
Dosha (sanskrit for imbalance) depends on your specific requiremrents as an unique individual. Above I just gave an example to make my point. Things are more cxomplicated -- and more simple -- at trhe same time.
So what is this specific 'state of being' we have to balance? To answer this question, Ayurveda has a toolbox of simple
concepts: easy to grasp ideas, common sense observations and ready at hand but sophisticated remedies.
Basically, I think, ayurveda is about love and understanding. Doing the 'ayuvedic thing' will make you more 'agreable', morein agreement with yourself and your surroundings. To to do the A-thing you have to understand and to love.
