In review, the vata humor, through the unstable nature of prana, is aggravated and is responsible for most disease. Toxins accumulate in the colon, due to poor digestion and assimilation, causing the accumulation of undigested food. This toxic matter begins to move in different pathways, aggravating the other humors in the process. Thus, it is possible to say that the two primary factors for controlling or preventing the disease process lie in the management of vata and in keeping the intestinal tract free of toxic accumulation by promoting the digestive metabolism (agni). Self-love starts this process by generating the energy or prana needed to implement the changes that create health. Health starts with love, and is maintained by regular digestion and the assimilation of natural foods.
