3.2.2 Humors (dosha) and the 5 states of material existence

Historically, it is said that one must study the three humors for at least seven years in order to fully understand their total significance. They imply the whole of physical manifestation, and are derived from the five states of material existence:
- Ether / Space
- Air / Motion
- Fire / Energy
- Water / Cohesion
- Earth / Mass

As you can see from T001,
- motion and space = VATA (V);
- heat and fluid = PITTA (P);
- fluid and solid = KAPHA (K).
